Access to Employment
Access to Employment is a full-time study programme aimed at 16 – 18 year olds who are currently not in education or employment. This excellent programme is designed to support and prepare young people looking for work either as an Apprentice or as an employee within an organisation.
This is a study programme that is specifically tailored to the needs of its students, designed to help them find a job or Apprenticeship and can be accessed at various points throughout the year.
Access to Employment is delivered over 18 hours per week, which means three full days in college. The programme is delivered at our Huntingdon Campus and a student can be on the programme for up to six months.
Flexible and Rewarding
As Access to Employment is not accredited through structured qualifications, it means that it is a flexible and adaptable study programme that is focused on giving young people the skills, support and guidance required for entering the workplace or being successful in obtaining an Apprenticeship.
The programme includes study elements such as:
- CV Writing
- How to Apply for Apprenticeships and Jobs
- Interview Skills, Hints and Tips
- Team working
- Communication Skills
- General Customer Service
- Workplace Behaviours
- Personal Development and Life Skills
- Functional Skills in maths and English if required
- Work Placements and Trials
