Fitness fans celebrate Christmas at CRC

Fitness fans celebrated the end of the year with an energetic free Christmas fun session at Cambridge Regional College’s sports centre.

More than 30 regulars who attend classes at the centre joined together for a two-hour fitness session, starting off with Zumba and moving through circuits, weights, bar bells and fitness – before finishing off with a festive mince pie.

Staff at the sports centre led the activities and helped introduce a competitive element by dividing the fitness fans into teams of six, with a prize for the winning team in a special relay race.

Nicola Boddington, manager of the sports centre, said it had been a great event.

“Every year we hold a big Christmas get-together to say thank you to everyone who comes along to our fitness classes and give them a chance to try different activities and meet new people,” she said.

“The place was buzzing and everyone really enjoyed taking part in the sessions, which were all in the sports hall instead of in the studio so people could meet each other. It was great to get everyone together to celebrate the end of the year.”
